Carolyn Eastman, Ph.D.
Dr. Eastman is an author and Professor of History at Virginia Commonwealth University, with special interest in eighteenth and nineteenth-century histories of political culture, the media, and gender. Her talk will be based on her first book “A Nation of Speechifiers: Making an American Public after the Revolution,” which examines how ordinary women and men came to understand themselves as “Americans” after the Revolution.
Tickets are $15 for the Talk or $50 for the VIP Pass, which includes the Reception
The VIP Season Pass includes tickets to all four 2023 Speaker Events, PLUS an invitation to the VIP reception before each program with an opportunity to meet the speaker. Beer, wine, and hors d'oeuvres will be included at each reception.

There is no photography or video permitted during the talk.
Bags larger than 16 x 16 x 8 are prohibited inside the church. Any and all bags are subject to inspection. Please leave backpacks and bags inside your vehicle as we have no place to store them.
