Arnold’s Raid, Four Days of Events
This is a FREE program offered by the National Park Service, St. John’s Church Foundation and Henrico Recreation and Parks. Day Four, Sunday January 7th, will be held at Historic St. John’s Church.
Day One: Thursday January 4th at 7:00-8:00 PM

Randy Flood, Historian and Co-founder of The Real American Revolution Multimedia Center, explores the causes of conflict between the thirteen colonies and Great Britain including the issues, policies, and actions that led to America's War for Independence. This program is held in support of Benedict Arnold's Raid on Richmond history weekend events in partnership with Henrico County Recreation and Parks, History Division. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

In advance of Benedict Arnold’s Raid on the City of Richmond, meet the members of the Virginia Line. We will describe the brief battle in Richmond and the role played by the Henrico County Militia on January 5, 1781, and you will learn why the militia’s training and weapons were no match for Arnold’s veterans. Clothing, gear, and muskets will be demonstrated.

All day long experience period games and activities, foodways, spinning, music, Historic Weapons displays, British and American camps, and living history interpreters featuring Benedict Arnold, Elizabeth Egge and Thomas Jefferson.

We encourage masks but they are no longer required.
Seating is first come, first served.
There is no food, drink, gum, candy, strollers, backpacks or firearms permitted inside the church.
Bags larger than 16 x 16 x 8 are prohibited inside the church. Any and all bags are subject to inspection. Please leave backpacks and bags inside your vehicle as we have no place to store them.
