VISITOR CENTER
The Visitor Center contains our tour operations, gift shop, and permanent exhibition.
Tickets are purchased in the Visitor Center. We offer discounts to senior citizens and children. Groups of ten or more receive a discount. There is a fee for tours or reenactments conducted outside our normal hours of operation. Please call the Visitor Center at 804-648-5015 to schedule a tour or for admission prices and early opening fees.
Our gift shop features the PBS documentary “Liberty or Death” DVD and publication Liberty or Death: St. John’s Church and the American Revolution. We sell colonial-era souvenirs and gifts pertaining to Patrick Henry, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson including books, busts, coffee cups, assorted coffees, prints, and t-shirts. Jewelry, note cards, and seasonal gift items are available. We carry colonial books, games, and crafts for children. Custom gift baskets are available upon request. The permanent exhibition explores the history of the church and Richmond, political elections in the eighteenth century, events leading to the American Revolution, the delegates to the Second Virginia Convention, and Patrick Henry’s political career.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Tours are conducted Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday hours are 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. During the summer, we are open daily until 4:30 p.m.
Tour operations are closed on Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Tours are also subject to close for weddings, funerals, or other church functions.
