You can experience the historic significance of St. John's Church by taking a tour led by one of our expert guides. We also offer public and private reenactments of the Second Virginia Convention. Please visit our "Reenactment" page for more information.
Our informative tour includes a history of the buildings on the grounds of St. John's, highlights of the graveyard, where numerous individuals prominent in Richmond and Virginia history are buried, a tour of the inside of the Church, and a description of the vigorous debate of the Second Virginia Convention, during which Mr. Patrick Henry delivered his famous speech, which has lived on as the most famous cry for freedom in the world - "Give me liberty or give me death."
Tickets are purchased in our Interpretive Visitor Center and Gift Shop, which is located on the rear (southwest corner) of the grounds in our newly restored 1835 Brick Schoolhouse.
