The Book of Common Prayer states “the ministry of lay persons is to represent Christ and his Church; to bear witness to him wherever they may be; and, according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world; and to take their place in the life, worship and governance of the Church.”  The duty of all Christians is to follow Christ; to come together week by week for worship; and to work, pray, and give for the spread of the kingdom of God.”

At St. John’s we proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ when we do Christ’s ministry. Whether it be serving a meal to the poor, providing assistance to the working homeless, helping veterans convalescing in hospitals and their families, or reaching within to our fellow parishioners in time of need.

Parish life at St. John’s encompasses many ministries. Among these are Pastoral Care, Outreach, Worship, and Buildings and Grounds. Each gives parishioners a chance to participate in a meaningful way. We encourage you to explore the opportunities that St. John’s has to offer and to join us in spreading God’s love.
