This is an extraordinary time for the St. John’s Church Foundation. In 2004, we made a commitment to the 35,000 students and adults who come to St. John’s Church each year to learn more about the events in Virginia that led up to Patrick Henry’s inspiring “Give me liberty or give me death” speech and the American Revolution. We began a campaign to provide professional visitor facilities and enhanced educational programming in order to reinforce classroom instruction and provide meaningful interpretation for adults.

Our efforts have been successful. We are now taking the next step to stabilize and preserve the historic building. An assessment of the building indicates that there may be foundation issues and that our roof and air conditioning systems may need updating. Our current goals are to continue our commitment to providing quality educational programming, along with conducting a Preservation Plan to investigate the structure to determine what steps should be taken to stabilize and preserve it for future generations of visitors.

Your support of the St. John’s Church Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, is critical to our mission. I have personally contributed $10,000 to help the Foundation meet this goal. I urge you to give thoughtful consideration to contributing to our efforts with a gift of $100 or more. Your contribution is meaningful to preserving this National Historic Landmark and to providing quality educational programming that allows students and adults to learn and reflect on this defining moment in Virginia’s and our nation’s history.

Your support is essential to our success. If you have any questions, please contact
